Project Calm

We have been working with an organization called the Pardada Pardadi Educational Society (PPES) for the last few years. Through, PPES, Save A Child Now was connected with I Village, a social enterprise that empowers rural women through employment and financial independence. Last year, Save A Child Now suggested that the women create weighted blankets, because of their benefits to ease stress, anxiety and help people fall sleep. Now, the young women of I Village have created over one hundred weighted blankets fully funded, designed, and planned by Save A Child Now.

Save A Child Now has connected with the Make A Wish Foundation — Bay Area and Midatlantic — to donate these blankets to a number of low-income children with either cancer or a critical illness. We are also supporting medically complex children in the George Mark Children’s House in California, in addition to medically complex children in Hospice by the Bay Kids.

Project Calm supports both employment and job skills for young women in India, as well as makes the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses better by calming them down and helping them relax and ease pain. We will continue this initiative for the next few years. We would love your support!
